Position: FTE or Consultant Schedule: Flexible - Some evenings & weekends / Hybrid by approval only Reports to: Executive Director & Director of Youth & Young Adult Services Department: Youth & Young Adult Services Date Prepared: July 13, 2023 Salary: Competitive salary to commensurate with experience. Position Summary: To assure that the day to day tasks of the school & community team are achieved. The program supervisor works closely with the Director of Youth & Young Adult Services and Program Manager to fulfill the vision of the department. Responsibilities: Implement NAC School and Community Programs consistent with contractual mandates, standards and procedures of DYCD, MOCJ & ONS; Establish & maintain effective working relationships with all contracted schools key leadership; Supervise staff, including planning daily and weekly activities for and with staff, to ensure staff are present in places and at times needed; Independently reach out to community agencies (including faith-based community leaders, residents, businesses and organizations) and continuously work to establish and strengthen relationships at each site; Provide program overviews; Conduct outreach to the community (individually and as a team member) to build strong relationships with young people, residents, businesses and community groups including communities of faith and agencies providing services within the catchment areas; Represent the programs at all relevant community meetings and mobilize all to develop coordinated anti-gun/anti-violence messaging. Lead regular mobilization activities within the communities, including community events, response to individual shootings, rallies, planning and coordination meetings, and public education activities. Coordinate and review staff documentation of shootings and acts of violence prevented, risk notes, referrals Supervise staff in identifying youth who are gang members and those at risk for joining gangs and intervene in their lives through risk management to aid in solving current problems and preventing future ones. Supervise staff in providing clients with support and linkages to programs and opportunities in the community (e.g., job programs, GED, drug treatment, and mentoring). Identify and schedule needed trainings and workshops for staff. Requirements: High School diploma or GED - Life Experience accepted Excellent communication, planning, organizational and multitasking abilities; Ability to work effectively with and mobilize school-aged youth, educators, families, and partner organizations from a wide range of cultural and economic backgrounds; Ability to clear the PETS system to work in schools; Demonstrate understanding of adolescent youth development and the needs of high school-aged students; Ability to work occasional weeknight/weekends for events or meetings; Knowledge of Google Suites; or the ability to learn and maintain quickly Bi-lingual Spanish strongly preferred but not necessary; Strong commitment to racial and social justice; Demonstrated leadership and/or leadership growth;
