Program Aide 

Position(s): FTE, PTE and/or Consultant  Schedule: Flexible - Some Evenings and weekends  Reports to: Program Supervisor, Program Manager & Director of Youth & Young Adult Services  Department: Youth & Young Adult Services  Date Prepared: July 13, 2023 Salary: Competitive salary to commensurate with experience. Depends on employee or consultant hire. Position Summary:  The School & Community Aide plays a vital role in supporting youth in school and in the community to a successful future. The SCA’s are visible and a viable part of assuring that youth serviced by NAC receive the proper services needed. SCA’s are team players and hold strong ties to stakeholders ensuring that everyone is working in sync,  Responsibilities:   Develop strong working relationships with scholars, parents, school leadership teams and community partners;  Carry out school components at designated schools as indicated in NAC’s contract; includes but not limited to facilitation, events etc.;  Collaborate with school leadership on youth &  family engagement strategies and plan events; supporting Youth services; including but not limited to Out The Hood Excursions, BUDS, Sports etc.;  Serve as NAC representative in the school community, community at large, community based and city agency meetings when necessary;  Community Outreach to amplify the services of NAC;  Manage a caseload to include - 15 school/20 community youth;  Coordinates, leads, and supports regular mobilization and public education activities and organizes a minimum of one anti-violence community event in the service area per quarter (?) that brings residents together and discourages the acceptance of violence as a normal part of life. Coordinating and promoting anti-gun violence workshops, pro-social events and outline city services with and where community stakeholders and agencies partner to communicate and deliver services in targeted neighborhoods Coordinates themed weekends of action geared towards public safety where community organizations and affected populations communicate and collaborate to improve the lives of all New Yorkers;  Maintain data integrity and accuracy; working with colleagues to  submit timely and complete monthly program reports to Administration;  Follows  internal protocols for reporting staff and participant incidents;  Attends ALL staff meetings, monthly calls, and any ad hoc meetings and training coordinated and required by NAC Administration;  All other responsibilities as assigned.  Requirements:   High School diploma or GED - Life Experience accepted  Excellent communication, planning, organizational and multitasking abilities;  Ability to work effectively with and mobilize school-aged youth, educators, families, and partner organizations from a wide range of cultural and economic backgrounds; Ability to clear the PETS system to work in schools;  Demonstrated understanding of adolescent youth development and the needs of high school-aged students; Ability to work the occasional weeknight/weekends for school events or meetings;  Knowledge of Google Suites;  Bi-lingual Spanish strongly preferred but not necessary;  Strong commitment to racial and social justice; Demonstrated leadership and/or leadership growth;  About Not Another Child Inc:  Established in 2007, NAC’s overall mission is to provide support to families, communities and populations directly impacted by violence. Program Supervisor​​

Position: FTE or Consultant  Schedule: Flexible - Some evenings & weekends / Hybrid by approval only  Reports to: Executive Director & Director of Youth & Young Adult Services  Department: Youth & Young Adult Services  Date Prepared: July 13, 2023 Salary: Competitive salary to commensurate with experience. Position Summary:  To assure that the day to day tasks of the school & community team are achieved. The program supervisor works closely with the Director of Youth & Young Adult Services and Program Manager to fulfill the vision of the department.  Responsibilities: Implement NAC  School and Community Programs consistent with contractual mandates, standards and procedures of DYCD, MOCJ & ONS;  Establish & maintain effective working relationships with all contracted schools key leadership;  Supervise staff, including planning daily and weekly activities for and with staff, to ensure staff are present in places and at times needed;  Independently reach out to community agencies (including faith-based community leaders, residents, businesses and organizations) and continuously work to establish and strengthen relationships at each site;  Provide program overviews;  Conduct outreach to the community (individually and as a team member) to build strong relationships with young people, residents, businesses and community groups including communities of faith and agencies providing services within the catchment areas;  Represent the programs at all relevant community meetings and mobilize all to develop coordinated anti-gun/anti-violence messaging. Lead regular mobilization activities within the communities, including community events, response to individual shootings, rallies, planning and coordination meetings, and public education activities.  Coordinate and review staff documentation of shootings and acts of violence prevented, risk notes, referrals Supervise staff in identifying youth who are gang members and those at risk for joining gangs and intervene in their lives through risk management to aid in solving current problems and preventing future ones. Supervise staff in providing clients with support and linkages to programs and opportunities in the community (e.g., job programs, GED, drug treatment, and mentoring).
